March 15- HPS Precautions for the Spread of COVID-19
As a district Holdrege Public Schools is still trying to navigate the ever-changing landscape of preventing the spread of COVID-19. Because of that, we have a few announcements below that we would like you to read through and follow as best you can. Thanks in advance for your support!
School building access is hereby restricted to students, staff, and only those individuals who are explicitly authorized by building principals.
Staff and students are encouraged to remain home if they are sick. Until further notice, the district will not count student absences towards the 20-day chronic absenteeism limit as long as the district receives communication regarding the illness from a parent or guardian.
It probably goes without saying but please practice quality preventative measures such as staying home if you are ill, frequently washing hands, utilizing hand sanitizer, coughing/sneezing into your sleeve, and practicing social distancing.
Parents who have concerns about sending their children to school have the right to keep their children home. All we ask is that they communicate with their school and let them know of their intentions.
There may come a time where Holdrege Public Schools makes the decision to close or is forced to close but we are not there at this time. As a family, please be thinking about how you would handle things should that happen. Every situation is different and it may be much more simple for some families to handle a closure than others but please don’t be caught off guard.
Again, thanks in advance for your understanding and flexibility. We can guarantee that there will be more announcements regarding this issue in the near future.
